“Music of the Knights Showcases the Masterpieces of Britain’s Greatest Songwriters.”
Oklahoma City – What do iconic songs like “Yesterday,” “Circle of Life,” and “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina” have in common? These unforgettable hits were penned by multiple Grammy Award winners and three of Britain’s most celebrated songwriters: Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John, and Sir Paul McCartney. Each of these legendary artists has not only transformed the world of music but has also been knighted by Queen Elizabeth for their remarkable contributions.
In an extraordinary musical celebration, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic presents Music of the Knights, a symphonic tribute to these icons of British songwriting. This event will feature conductor Jan McDaniel, vocalists Scott Coulter, Oklahoma’s own Campbell Walker Fields, Blaine Krauss, and pianist John Boswell, performing alongside the talented musicians of the OKC Philharmonic.
“This program brings together timeless music that has touched hearts around the world,” says OKC Philharmonic Music Director Alexander Mickelthwate. “It’s a joy to share the stage with such phenomenal artists and honor the legacy of these extraordinary songwriters.”
Experience the magic of Music of the Knights at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, and Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Civic Center Music Hall. Tickets are available now at okcphil.org or by calling (405) 842-5387.
Don’t miss this unforgettable evening celebrating the music that defined generations.
Music of the Knights is sponsored by HSPG.
